A NEW tenant is being sought for a post office branch.
Blanchland Shop and Post Office closed on Sunday, June 24 as the owner moved on to another role.
The owner, who wished to remain anonymous, said they hoped to replace the post office service only.
"We're working closely with the post office to keep open one day for a few hours a week until the shop can be taken over."
He said: "We've been here 10 years at this particular branch but you've got to go with what's best for you and your family.
"The community fully supports me, so they are happy enough with it and fully understand," he added.
