AN EVENTS company who hosts indoor monthly markets is celebrating its fifth anniversary.

For five years, Cheryl Hutchinson, owner of CH events, has provided a safe and confortable environments for traders all over the Tynedale.

Hexham Courant:

Since starting the company in 2018, Cheryl from Haydon Bridge, believes the business and 'trading community' has grown into something even she could not have imagined.

She is pleased that an idea to help her business, has helped others as well.

"I set up the business originally as I was trying to find somewhere to sell my products, at the time there wasn’t a lot in the local area," Cheryl explains.

"I had been unwell for a few year and struggled with anxiety so I wanted to build up a community where traders could support each other and get together regularly.

"My husband and children help me with the events, so it’s a real family business and our regular traders feel very much part of our family.

"A lot of craftspeople spend so much time on their own making things and they don’t have that camaraderie that comes from traditional work environments.

Hexham Courant:

"This is definitely something that’s built up over the years and it’s lovely to see.

"I never imagined where we would be today. Our traders are amazingly talented and fantastic company and we love seeing them every month."

"We have supported each other through so many things including Covid, bereavements and health issues."

Now looking forward into the future, Cheryl is lookng for more opportunities to help traders.

She adds:"Going into our 6th year trading we are looking forward to lots of indoor markets, we hold them each month in Corbridge Parish Hall and Hexham Abbey.

"The diary is full for the rest of this year and next.

"I’m also looking forward to seeing the business grow and carrying on with our sweet business The Petite Sweet Company which we run alongside the indoor markets.

"We always welcome new traders and all of our upcoming dates can be found on our facebook page CH Event or website"
