Ms Jefferson said: "We are over the moon with the report as we feel it is a true reflection of what we are able to offer our families.

"I am incredibly proud of our staff team. Each one of them has been specially selected for their values and skill set and they are an amazing group of people who are undoubtedly having an amazingly positive impact on the children of Explorers.

"As for me, running my own nursery has been my aspiration since undertaking my teaching degree in Primary Education, with a specialism in Early Years.

"Following this I have completed numerous further professional development including attaining an MEd (Leadership) from Newcastle University, the SENDCo qualification from Northumbria, the National Professional Qualification for Headship, as well as the Forest School Leadership qualification. All these combined with the numerous senior leadership roles I have held over my 23 years in education has resulted in Explorers.

"Additionally, I grew up in Wylam, only moving away for university and I feel very strongly about contributing to the community. This is why our daily adventures into the village, as well as hosting large celebration events with music and inflatables, like Wylam Calling, is such a wonderful thing for us to be able to do with our families," she added.
