HUNDREDS turned out for annual town event.

The return of Prudhoe's town fair brought out excited residents, visitors from all over the North East and even the sun on Saturday, June 4.

Throughout the day, visitors enjoyed various entertainment including funfair rides, visiting different types of stalls and enjoying live music performances.

Emergency services such as The Northumbria Blood Bikes display and Northumberland Fire Service also joined in the fun of the event as they took the opportunity to teach visitors about their vital services.

A Prudhoe Community Fair committee member Ken Stow said: "The fair was again a success.

"We had large numbers of people many of whom had come from outside of Prudhoe and many people stayed for the duration of the fair.

"We look forward now to doing it again next year. We should also thank all those who attended for being so respectful of our town, the amount of litter left was minimal."

Pleased with the success of the event, Cllr Gordon Stewart also adds: "This year the fair was blessed with fine warm weather which added to the enjoyment for hundreds of local people along with many visitors to the town, some for the first time, this helps support the local economy.’
