WE rounded up some of the best things to keep you and the family entertained through summer half-term.
1 Northumberland County Show, Bywell
Get stuck in to food, animal shows and live music. Hundreds of trade stands fill the show field at Bywell with various businesses and organisations to learn about on May 27.
2 Stargazing at Twice Brewed
Enjoy some real-time stargazing even when it’s light outside, ideal for families with young children.
3 Grant's Bakery, Corbridge
Sample some of the delicious treats from the bakery which has just been awarded the title of the best bakery in Northumberland.
4 Water Day at Kielder Water and Forest Park
Try canoeing or kayaking on Kielder Water on every Monday through July and August.
5 Turbo Venture, Matfen
Try blindfold driving, tank driving or the notorious Jungle Challenge, where customers drive quad bikes through the forest.
6 Jump 360, Newcastle
Bounce on 100 interconnected trampolines and discover a whole load of thrilling activities for all the family.
There is traditional trampolining, a giant inflatable arena, basketball, dodgeball, foam pits and airbags.
7 Bushcraft at Calvert Kielder
Learn how to build a shelter, light a fire or make a brew in the outdoors.
8 Jane Eyre at Belsay Hall
Watch the love story between the young governess and the mysterious Mr Rochester unfold at Belsay Hall.
9 Go Ape, Matfen
Swing through the treetops with friends and family at the outdoor activity centre located in rural Northumberland, or try axe-throwing for something different.
This was the first Go Ape to be built on the grounds of a country house hotel, known as Matfen Hall Hotel.
10 Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre
Try the three outdoor heated pools, an adventure play area, and a picnic area. Entry fees will allow you unlimited use of these facilities all day, and there's free parking.
Other facilities include a fitness suite, astro pitch tennis courts, four badminton courts, a sports hall, and an activity studio.
