A BRIDGE will close for emergency gas works tonight.
Ovingham Bridge, which crosses the River Tyne and connects Ovingham and Prudhoe, will close for emergency works tonight (May 18).
Business operations lead at Northern Gas Networks, James Knox, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the Ovingham Bridge Road closure due to ongoing emergency gas works.
“I want to assure the public that we are working hard to resolve the issues as quickly as possible while ensuring that safety is the priority.
“We are working with Northumberland Council and we have agreed with them to put in place a temporary road closure on Ovingham Bridge Road from 7pm this evening until 5am tomorrow (May 19) to minimise the impact on local residents.”
