THE first tournament of Riding Mill Tennis Club's new season ended in dramatic fashion.

Two men and two ladies were tied for the individual honours at the end of the round-robin format for the Spring Cup, held on Saturday, April 29.

Club captain Ross Breen and his brother Scott were level on points, as were Madeleine Probyn and Suzie Aitchison.

The quartet fought out a sudden death mixed doubles decider, in which Ross and Suzie were victorious.

The tennis season at Riding Mill is getting into full swing, and the club is always happy to welcome new members, of all ages and abilities.

Social tennis sessions take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings.

Adult coaching sessions are held every Friday morning, at 10.30am, with junior coaching planned to restart later this month.

The club is hosting an open day at its courts on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, as part of the village’s Coronation celebrations.
