THE Barrasford Arms in Hexham is up for sale, with owners Michael and Victoria Eames deciding they want to move on to new ventures.

Michael worked as executive head chef at Slaley Hall until October 2016.

In 2017, he and wife Victoria, who is front-of-house at the Barrasford Arms, took over the reins from former owner Tony Binks, after his decision to retire after 11 years.

The award-winning pub was also visited by Robson Green, when he was filming one of his programmes about Northumberland.

The pair's announcement on Facebook said: "After six amazing years we have made the difficult decision to announce we plan on selling the pub to move onto new ventures.

"Barrasford has not only been the perfect place to meet some wonderful people and grow a great business but also to start our family, however we feel it’s time for our next chapter.

"Please be assured we are not going anywhere any time soon and it does not change anything here at the Barrasford Arms - we can’t wait to see you all still when you are next in.

"A big thank you to all customers and staff over our time here who have been a big part of our lives."

They added that the business is being marketed through Christie & Co.
