AHEAD of the King's Coronation, we looked back at the times he has visited Northumberland over the years.

On the day of Queen Elizabeth II's death, September 8, her eldest son Prince Charles ascended to the throne becoming King Charles III.

King Charles' visit to Hexham overran significantly as he was too busy chatting. Among his duties during the 2018 visit was to officially open the Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre.

Prince Charles rounded off the visit to Northumberland with a three-minute meditation session at the cancer treatment centre, then promptly asked if the exercise could be carried out at home.
