FOUR music ensembles performed together for the first time.
On Friday, April 21 Ponteland High School's wind band performed with three other renowned ensembles from the Tyne Valley. These included Ponteland Community Wind Band, Prudhoe Community Wind Band and Whittonstall Community Wind Band.
These ensembles are well-recognised for their musical contributions to the Tyne Valley and Ponteland High School was delighted to have the opportunity to perform with them as they rarely meet for a joint concert.
The concert was held in the school assembly hall.
Each ensemble presented a small programme of three or four pieces. At the end of the concert, all four ensembles performed together.
Ponteland High School said it was delighted to host the event and encourage community music-making to take place in the Tyne Valley, as well as encouraging our students to join this well-established ensemble outside of school time.
