A business is thanking residents for their help in raising funds for an important campaign.

Haltwhistle butcher Paul Baugh was 'overwhelmed' with the generosity of residents as they helped to raise £400 for the suicide prevention awareness support campaign.

Over the Easter holidays they took part in a domino card to win an Easter hamper.

Paul said: "We have raised money for the charity for the past few years.

"We always have boxes around the business.

"It is a good charity and really helps people when they need it.

"I believe it is really important for many to be aware of the help available."

Speaking about the amount raised, Paul adds: "We did not expect to raise that much money, especially with the rising costs of living.

“I am shocked but pleased to have raised this amount. The town is known to be very generous.

"Haltwhistle has always been great at supporting anyone who needs it."
