After hearing the news of Paul O'Grady passing away on Wednesday March 29, Hexham Courant readers were quick to pay tribute to the TV host, comedian and face of Battersea Cat & Dog homes.
Leading the tributes, Roger Higgins said: "Saw him a couple of weeks ago as Miss Hannigan in ‘Annie’ in Newcastle. He was excellent. A good man; humanitarian; socialist. A sorry loss."
Agreeing with Roger, Norma Painter also added: "Will miss you, lovely man."
Dotty May agreed with everyone in the comments and added that he will be sorely missed.
Paul's husband announced the news and although the cause of his death has not been revealed, the TV presenter and comedian had had three heart attacks by 2021.
Pat Backhouse sent her sympathy to those who knew him. She said: "What a lovely person he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him
"Deepest sympathy to his family and friends R.I.P Paul Xxxx."
