AN award-winning piano trio will perform on the town's main stage in April.
The Mithras Trio return to Hexham's Queen's Hall on Saturday, April 1 for the closing concert in the Hexham and District Music Society’s 2022 and 2023 season.
The Arts Desk praised one of their performances, saying it had "an intensity and expressive range that was often as beguiling as it was exhilarating".

Joan Peugniez, chair of the Hexham and District Music Society, said: "What a way to close our season. Everyone who was at last year’s concert will know just how good the Mithras are. They really are something special."
The concert, which begins at 7.30pm, features piano trios by Beethoven and Frank Bridge and a rarely heard work by the French composer, Lili Boulanger.
The Mithras Trio shot to international recognition in 2019 when they won first prize at both the Trondheim International Chamber Music and the Royal Over-Seas League Music competitions and received the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Henderson Award.
They are now members of the BBC’s prestigious New Generation Artists scheme, broadcasting often on Radio 3 and touring across the UK, North America and Europe. Buy tickets at the Queen's Hall box office - www.queenshall.co.uk/.
