A CORBRIDGE nursery has been rated 'outstanding' across the board.

Little Tinklers Nursery was given a clean sweep for 'quality of education', 'behaviour and attitudes', 'personal development', 'leadership and management' and 'overall effectiveness' by inspectors.

The Tinklers Yard early years setting was inspected in February by Ofsted, the education watchdog.

The report said: "Children are confident, curious and eager to learn at this very welcoming and inclusive setting. Staff encourage them to have a strong sense of who they are, where they come from and the community in which they live.

"Children enjoy lovely relationships with staff, who they form close bonds with. They have great fun together and clearly enjoy each other's company."

The report also highlighted the varied activities children can take part in, including work with a local care home and author and artist in residence.

Hexham Courant:

The nursery, which was last inspected in 2017, when it was also rated 'outstanding', was also praised for its support to children with additional needs and or disabilities.

Inspectors take in information provided by the nursery and management and staff when awarding a rating.

In 2022, Little Tinklers, which also has an 'outstanding' branch in Ponteland, was named best childcare provider at the Families North East awards.
