A gritting schedule has been announced to start tonight ahead of 48 hours of disruptive weather.

Northumberland County Council have announced on their Facebook page their 'planned winter services' to make sure roads will be gritted in time for snow predicted by the Met office on March 6 and 7.

The services starts tonight (Sunday March 5) from 6pm.

It will start at Allendale, Alnwick 1, Alnwick 2, Alnwick 3, Alnwick 4, Bearl 1, Bearl 2, Bearl 3, Bearl 4, Bearl 5, Bearl 6, Bellingham 1, Bellingham 2, Berwick 1, Berwick 2, Cowley 1, Cowley 2, Cowley 3, Cowley 4, Cowley 5, Haltwhistle 1, Haltwhistle 2, Morpeth 1, Morpeth 2, Morpeth 3, Otterburn 1, Otterburn 2 and Rothbury

Then from 04:00 on Monday, March 6; Allendale, Alnwick 1, Alnwick 2, Alnwick 3, Alnwick 4, Bearl 1, Bearl 2, Bearl 3, Bearl 4, Bearl 5, Bearl 6, Bellingham 1, Bellingham 2, Berwick 1, Berwick 2, Cowley 1, Cowley 2, Cowley 3, Cowley 4, Cowley 5, Haltwhistle 1, Haltwhistle 2, Morpeth 1, Morpeth 2, Morpeth 3, Otterburn 1, Otterburn 2 and Rothbury
