THIS is what you can do in Hexham to celebrate King Charles lll's coronation.
Although some plans are still to be confirmed, here is what Hexham Community Partnership and Queen’s Hall Arts have organised so far for the celebratory occasion:
Sunday, May 7 - afternoon
Picnic, music, and rounders
In the afternoon around 12-3 pm (TBC), there will be a picnic in the park as part of the Coronation Big Lunch in Hexham. Everyone will be invited to bring a picnic lunch to eat around the bandstand.
While everyone enjoys their picnic, they will also be able to listen to live music and entertainment which will include a giant game of rounders!
Sunday - evening
Celebration service
At 6.30pm, there will be a County Service of Celebration for the Coronation hosted at the Abbey on behalf of the Duchess of Northumberland, as Lord Lieutenant.
Monday, May 8
On Monday, everyone is invited to participate in The Big Help Out by volunteering some of their time for a good cause. Here is information and opportunities on the Team Hexham Volunteer Hub at www.teamhexham.co.uk
This is only the start of the plans as the Hexham Community Partnership and Queen's Hall Arts will be hosting a public meeting about getting involved at Hexham Library on Tuesday, March 21 at 5.30pm.
In the meantime, for anyone looking to get in the mood ahead of the Coronation weekend, the Orpheus Choir will be performing Mozart’s Coronation Mass on Wednesday, March 29 at Trinity Church on Beaumont Street.
