A 17-YEAR-OLD was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
At around 12.30am this morning (Friday), officers from Northumbria Police were alerted to a 'vehicle of interest' travelling in the West Wylam area of Prudhoe.
After being instructed to pull over, the occupant failed to stop and made off, police say. The vehicle was later found abandoned nearby.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "A search was carried out to locate the occupant and a 17-year-old male was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
"He has since been released under investigation with enquiries ongoing."
