A PONTELAND primary school is among the best, a new guide has revealed.
The Times' Parent Power Schools Guide ranks schools across the UK using performance results.
Ponteland Community Primary School, on the village's Callerton Lane, has been named one of the top state primary schools for the North East region. It also has a national rank of 148.
"Ponteland Community Primary School is very proud to have been named in the Sunday Times' list of top primary schools", said headteacher Carl Johnson. "We work tirelessly every day to offer the children specialist, outstanding teaching coupled with the best primary school facilities around.
"It is always a privilege to be recognised for the children’s and staff’s commitment to ensuring the best education.
"We live by our vision that ‘...in order that they may have life and have it abundantly.’ (John 10:10). "
