Staff from three businesses hope to raise funds for a vital service by completing a sponsored walk.
Businessman Jordan Dodwell and 17 members of staff from all three of his businesses have set themselves a challenge of walking 25 miles on Sunday, May 21, for the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team.
Jordan is the proud managing partner of Hexham holiday homes, The Greenhead hotel and Vercelli restaurant.
He and his family took over Vercelli restaurant in April 2017 then Jordan decided to take over the hotel with his partner Anna Pearson in June 2020.
Following the hotel's refurbishment and opening its doors in August 2020, Jordan established Hexham holiday homes in January 2020, a self-catering accommodation provider in and around the Hexham area.
Jordan and his team constantly try to raise money for charities.
One of the most recent fundraisers was a pizza-selling fundraiser, which raised money for Tynedale Hospice at Home.
But this time, Jordan hopes the team can raise over £500 for the rescue service.

He said: "We are always looking for ways to raise money for local charities.

"We came up with the idea of a sponsored walk, walking from one business to the other as a great way to encourage staff to get fit going into the spring and to raise some money.

"Considering the nature of the fundraiser we thought it only seemed right we chose the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue as they cover the area we are walking and attend call outs many times per year to assist with injured or lost walkers along the Hadrian's wall path.

"The mountain rescue team are all skilled volunteers who cover the whole of the Northumbria police area and they do not receive any government funding.

"Myself and 17 of my employees from all three of my businesses are planning to complete the 25-mile walk on Sunday, May 21. We have set a target of £500 to raise."
