AN OPEN Day will be held at a new £1 million veterinary practice.

Alnorthumbria Vets will soon open the doors to its new £1 million larger and upgraded practice which relocated to Dobbies Garden Centre in Ponteland.

On February 22, the surgery will move to the brand new 3,300 square foot purpose-built building.

The local community is invited to tour behind the scenes of its new practice during an Open Day on Friday, February 24 from 12 to 4pm.

Local pet owners can meet Alnorthumbria’s practice manager Hazel Bone, senior clinical director Amy Cotter, and several of their colleagues.

Visitors can view the new facilities and uncover what happens during a day-in-the-life of the practice. The team will give visitors information on first aid for pets and veterinary nurses will teach children how to bandage a teddy bear dog paw. In addition, visitors can participate in various activities and enjoy home-made refreshments.

Alnorthumbria Vets' new property enables the practice to increase the number of clients it serves and significantly expand the clinical services it offers to pets. Its modern purpose-built building houses the latest veterinary facilities and equipment.

The new practice is prominently located at the rear end of Dobbies. It has its own entrance for easy access and ample parking for clients and animal patients. Its new location means clients can enjoy Dobbies’ dog-friendly facilities. The store welcomes pets, has a pet department featuring pet food, toys and accessories, and a dedicated dog-friendly restaurant area.
