A HEXHAM bodybuilder is to feature in a Netflix film based in the North East.
Simon Newton, known for his PT work and becoming the IBFA British Champion last year in a bodybuilding contest, is to be featured in an 80s gangster thriller 'Jackdaw' based in the North East.
According to ScreenDaily, the film stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Jenna Coleman and is set over the course of a single night and follows a broke former motocross champion and army veteran who agrees to pick-up a mysterious package in the North Sea.
Simon said: "One of my friends Claire Graham had seen the post on social media and a few more tagged me in.
"Then I got a message asking if I could I get in touch and send some pics in.

"I sent the pics in then I got message saying they liked them and could I go down to the studio to talk to them and have a dress rehearsal.
"The film is set in the 80s, so everyone was having a good laugh - more at me as I had to do it with just a pair of shorts and nothing on my top half and it was freezing.
"They were going to make me wear a wig with having alopecia but decided I suited the part better the way I was and will help with more work.
"It was my first film and I hope it will be the start of more."
