FRIENDS and family of a 15-year-old girl described as "helpful and kind" are expected to gather to remember her short life.
Holly Newton, of Haltwhistle, died on Friday in a double stabbing on Priestpopple in Hexham town centre.
A 16-year-old boy also suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Another 16-year-old boy has now been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear before the courts today (Monday).
On Friday (February 3), people will gather at Hexham bandstand where purple candles and lights will be lit in memory of the teen, known as Holly Olivia, and who has been described as a "beautiful 15-year-old that loved dancing" and animals.
Hexham Abbey will also open its doors to host people for refreshments and the lighting of candles.
Shortly after 5.10pm on January 27, police were alerted by the ambulance service to a report of a teenage boy and girl being injured in the town centre.
Emergency services attended the scene where they found the boy and girl had suffered serious injuries consistent with having been caused by a bladed article.
Floral tributes have been left outside Halifax bank and at Queen Elizabeth High School, where Holly was a pupil. The school said in a statement it would come together to support each other.
