A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl has made her acting debut.

Isla Pearson, of Stocksfield, appeared on the children's TV show Danny & Mick.

The CBBC programme, which follows the brothers working together at the fictional Pottsfield Leisure Centre, is now in its fifth series.

In the episode, entitled Ice Creamers, Broomley First School pupil Isla is seen receiving an ice cream from junior team member Danny, whist little, but very big, brother and security guard Mick is creating music.

Isla is on the books of NE14.TV talent, casting and recruitment agency and hopes this experience will lead to more acting roles.

"When I came to pick her up, I actually managed to catch her doing her bit", said proud mum Alice Stroyan, of Alice Elizabeth Photography. "She did it in one take.

"A couple of days later, we got an email from the agency that came from the producer saying 'all the kids were fab - but Isla was especially brilliant.

"She absolutely loved it, she can't wait until there's another opportunity. She had a really good day - and a day off school.

"We're going to look into doing some stage school. She's already a natural talent without any training."

Isla, who watches the programme, was one of four children to take part in the filming with the cast for a whole day in Alnwick. Her younger brother Harris had also been shortlisted.

Alice added: "She was smiling at the telly, I had to run through and watch it.

Hexham Courant:

"I was laughing watching her facial expressions. I was on the other side of the camera when she did it, it would have been different had I not seen her acting it. But I felt really proud. She's so cute.

"We've just watched the new Matilda musical and she loves it. I think it's spurring her on to do more and it made me think we should get them (Isla and Harris) into it, they love dancing, singing and acting at home, they should put it to use somewhere else."

Danny Adams, Mick Potts and dad Clive Webb, all of Cirque Du Hilarious, recently starred in Cinderella at Newcastle's Theatre Royal.
