A POPULAR Ponteland hairdressing salon is to close its doors after more than 30 years in business.
Henry Robert Hairdressing will close its doors this month as owner Harry Pringle and his long-serving stylist Debbie McCue have decided to retire.
Harry first trained as a hairdresser after being made redundant from his previous job in the travel industry.
He took over the salon at The Toll House, where Debbie already worked, in 1991.
Over the past three decades they have enjoyed many good times, Harry said.
"I can't say there have been any bad times actually."

After announcing the news of the salon's closure on their Facebook page, Harry and Debbie received many messages wishing them well and expressing how much they will both be missed.
"We have many very loyal customers," said Harry, who lives in Gosforth.
"It's sad on both parts - it's sad for them that I'm leaving and I'm sad too, but for personal reasons, I have to stop working."
The salon will open for the final time on Saturday, January 14.
