A FUNDRAISER is pleased to announce that he raised just over £400 for charity by covering his house and garden with hundreds of Christmas lights and decorations.

Ridley Reader of Spartylea was 'amazed' by the generosity of his community who donated to Dementia UK after seeing his GoFundMe page about decorating his house in Christmas lights.

His main goal was to 'bring community spirit back after the pandemic'.

Ridley has covered his house and gardens in decorations for the past 40 years since his children went to school.

He has only started using the idea as a fundraiser in the last three years.

Ridley said: "The current count is £416.

"There are so many worthwhile charities needing support all year round.

"I am very pleased people chose to support Dementia UK, as they provide helplines and experienced nurses to support the families of sufferers of this multi-faceted illness that touches so many of us."
