To mark 40 years of the run, CCN is bringing a festival feel to next year's Children's Cancer Run with live entertainment, arts and cultural activities, local food stalls and an interactive Kids Lab Zone.

Chris Peacock, chair of CCN, said: "From its humble beginnings at Kings School in Tynemouth four decades ago, the Children's Cancer Run has grown to become one of our region's most iconic events."

Sponsorship money funds cancer research, supports children and their families, and raises awareness of childhood cancer.

Chris said: "Because we're marking a special anniversary in 2023, we're inviting people to share their memories and experiences of the Children's Cancer Run through the years.

"As a survivor of childhood cancer, I know first hand what a difference CCN makes to the lives of people affected by this disease. That's why the Children's Cancer Run is such an important event, and why we're celebrating its amazing legacy in 2023."
