A NORTHUMBERLAND brewery has picked up a collection of awards in international competitions.

The Twice Brewed Brewing Company, which shares a site with popular pub The Twice Brewed Inn, was recently awarded Gold in the International Beer Challenge for its Czech dark lager Juno Black.

The competition received thousands of entries from more than 40 different countries.

It’s the fifth award of the year for the brew, which received Gold at the European Beer Challenge; one of two Silver awards for the burgeoning brewery at the World Beer Awards; a Gold at the SIBA North East Keg Beer Awards; and Gold at the SIBA National Keg Beer Awards.

Head Brewer at The Twice Brewed, Matthew Brown, said: “We’ve had a fantastic year across a number of competitions and it’s definitely been a bumper one for Juno Black.

“It’s really satisfying to see our brews getting regional, national and international recognition and as we go into the Christmas season, we’re sure people will be delighted to hear their favourite beers are global award winners.”

The recent awards success has coincided with The Twice Brewed’s best-selling brew the Sycamore Gap pale ale being showcased in the House of Commons.

The Twice Brewed Brew House supplies pubs and retailers across the North-East and beyond with its award-winning range of cask, bottled and canned beers and ales.
