Hexham Canoe Club are running a beginners’ river trip from Hexham to Corbridge on Sunday 20 November at 10.30am at Hexham Tyne Green.
The event will be for one to two hours and ran by coaches; Nelly, Eddy and Andy.
A spokesperson for the club said: "This is an ideal introduction to moderate water, learning about paddling on moving water.

"We will be stopping for lunch at a suitable point, and may be working on skill development throughout the trip.
"Pre-requisites are that candidates should have should have had some regular experience paddling on Tyne Green, including capsize technique with a spray deck.
"Please bring suitable kit for the time of year (club members can hire club kit) and a change of clothes, food and warm drink.
"Places are limited so please contact either Eddy steddyteddy@hotmail.co.uk or michael@multichem.net to request a place, or if you have any questions.
"If weather or water levels are not appropriate on the day, an alternative trip may be offered, or the trip may be cancelled.
"Participants and parents are kindly asked to help with transport and shuttles. Please let Eddy or Nelly know if you can do this when you request a place.
"Participants under 18 years must provide written parental consent."
