A host of a craft fair is pleased with the success of raising funds for his local community for another year.

Ian Brown, organiser of the 34th Haltwhistle Craft fair was 'pleased' to see a huge turnout to his annual event which has also helped to continue to raise money for local girl guiding.

The event took place in the Masonic Hall on Banks Terrace, on Saturday, November 5, between 10am and 4pm.

He said: "It was a really nice day and the event it had a lovely warm atmosphere.

"We had around 250 people through the door and the stallholders in general did very well. 

"We have been supporting Local Girl Guiding for a long time and thousands of pounds will have been raised over the years and this event we have raised £206 in our raffle.

"The money will directly help both Brownies and Rainbows in the area."
