A first-time bodybuilder is 'amazed' as his success on his competing journey after gaining a great result in Italy.

Simon Newton started competing in June and has already gained three titles and recently won second place in the 'worlds' competition in Italy.

The fitness instructor is now looking forward to taking part in more competitions next year.

"Following my podium finish, I have now qualified for next year's universe competition, and I have more competitions to plan," Simon said.

"I am amazed that I have managed to become UK and British champion in my first year of competing.

"By doing this, I got the fantastic opportunity to compete in the world championship in Italy, where I won second place.

"What is even crazier is that I am finishing ahead of last year's world champion and two of the Universe champions as well," Simon adds.

"I believe my success is due to hard work, determination, and the people who have helped me.

"I would like to thank all who have supported me; Jade Metcalfe, my fiancé, who has done all my food prep and supported me and my children, who have been there from the start.

"Additionally, I would also like to thank Ryan Way coach and Steven Gibson from True potential wealth, who arranged all the travel and accommodation, along with Danny Brown, Abbey Plant and Rob Robson."

He added: "I'm doing another show on Sunday to qualify for another universe show in Turkey.

"In this, I will compete in Manchester in a classic physique category.

"I chose this category as I wanted a challenge to see if I could do it well.

"Classic Physique competitors have a weight division tied to their height. "This weight cap is meant to limit extreme muscularity.

"The posing routines are typically more fluid and artful, and athletes can hit a 'classic pose'."
