Dave Pflieger, Flybe’s CEO said: “Since the launch of Flybe in late April, residents from both Belfast and Newcastle have been asking us for flights to the North-East of England or Northern Ireland. As a result, we’re pleased to not only connect these two great regions, but also give people more choices on flights between the North-East and London.

“There is a clear need for competition on the London - Newcastle route, as this is a route that has strong demand from business customers and students alike. In addition, we also believe that our new schedule will provide perfect timings for weekend trips from Newcastle to and from Belfast’s extremely close and convenient city centre airport.”

Richard Knight, chief operating officer at Newcastle International Airport said: “We are pleased to see Flybe invest in the region and Newcastle International Airport. Operating a daily service to Belfast City, as well as a weekday daily service to London Heathrow, Flybe will complement our existing domestic services and increase opportunities for both our business and leisure travellers.”

Flights from Newcastle International airport are available to book now.
