HAYDON Bridge saw the official opening of a newly-refurbished play park at Langley Gardens.

It was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Guy Opperman MP, Northumberland County Councillor Alan Sharp, representatives from Karbon Homes which owns and manages the play park, and pupils from local primary school, Shaftoe Trust Academy.

Mr Opperman said: "I was delighted to attend the opening of the new Langley Gardens play area. After our campaign with local residents, I want to say a huge thanks to Karbon Homes for this £25,000 investment in Haydon Bridge."

Cllr Sharp said: "I'm so pleased that Karbon Homes, after consulting with local residents, has installed new play equipment at the park which has made a big improvement and been a welcome addition for local children."

Karbon Homes invested £25,000 providing new equipment, consisting of a new zip wire, swings and spring rockers.
