After Liz Truss announced her resignation on Thursday, October 21, public eyes have been looking at their MP's to see who they are backing for the next MP.
In running is to replace Liz is;
- Rishi Sunak MP, the former chancellor and is the current favourite with the bookmakers to replace the PM.
- Penny Mordaunt MP,the former defence secretary who finished third in the previous PM race.

- Ben Wallace MP, a former defence secretary and soilder.
- Former PM Boris Johnson.
- Suella Braverman MP, who was the first to declare she was running to be the next Conservative Leader in the summer.
- Kemi Badenoch MP- Ms Badenoch stood in the Conservative leadership race over the summer, coming fourth behind Mr Sunak, Ms Mordaunt and Ms Truss.
- Brandoon Lewis MP - the current justice secratary
For Tynedale residents, questions were being raised of who their local MP voted for.
In a Tweet, Guy Opperman said: "I remain of the view that @RishiSunak is the right person to be our Prime Minister.
"He is a serious person for serious times.
"He was right about the economy during the summer: we need his leadership to get us back on track."
