AN art teacher had a brush with fame when she overcame her nerves to shoot a TV show with star Robson Green.

Tracey Taylor, 50, of Alston had the pleasure of teaching Robson, his uncle Mattison and brother David in a field for one hour art class.

The Green family came to Northumberland to film a new TV series which will be aired on BBC2 in 2023.

The new program is hinted to be about activities that can be done across the countryside to help mental health.

"The opportunity came about when the film crew came to Forge Studios where I work," Tracey said.

"They had asked the manager if any artist would be interested in doing a session for Rob and his family.

"I was asked but said no at first. I didn't like the idea of being on camera - as I thought I would stutter and go bright red.

"Thinking I was off the hook, I was working in my studio at the site and the producer came in and started to chat to me.

"Thinking nothing of it, I talked to him and told him about my work. He then said 'you wil be great for the show'.

"I was confused and said 'no, it is one of the other artists doing it' - which he replied that Robson and his family wanted to paint with a palet knife and I was the only artist there that did it."

Although Tracey was adamant that she was not doing the show, with motivation from colleagues and famly, she rose to the challenge.

"It was just like teaching three normal guys and I was in an art lesson," Tracey reflects.

"It did not feel like I was on camera and the conservation was flowing like normal.

"They were three cheeky lads and I felt really at ease with them so I was laughing throughout the session.

"At the end, they bought lunch for us all and Robson asked me all about my career.

"He asked about my story and we talked about mental health and the importance to do something about it such as art.

"He was so genuine and showed that he really cared."
