1 Cafe Roma, Hexham

The cafe used to be on Fore Street in Hexham before it closed. One reader said they loved the cafe because it had a juke box and it was where they met up with friends.

2 Coffee Cup, Hexham

A popular favourite among readers, Coffee Cup is dog-friendly and serves homemade food.

One Facebook review said: "Lovely breakfast sandwich, freshly cooked, also a great coffee."

3 The Kitchen, Cramlington

One reader said the coffee shop has 'wonderful friendly staff who make coffee exactly as you ask'.

They serve a range of paninis and toasties.

4 Errington Coffee House, Corbridge

One reader said the Coffee House 'is my go to coffee shop. Always a friendly welcome and service with a smile'.

Run by local farmers, they serve fresh and homecooked traditional food.

5 The Auld Venice Café, Hexham

Recommended for coffee quality, and a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, the coffee shop is located on Hallgate street in Hexham.

7 Rising Cafe, Hexham 

One Facebook review said: "Fantastic food and an even more fantastic meaning behind the cafe. Lovely staff and will definitely be back."

Serving home-baked goods with a 1940s twist, Rising Cafe is a charity which supports homeless and substance-addicted men and women.

All proceeds go directly towards funding their recovery through the charity work of Betel UK.

8 Shiregate Cafe, Hexham

"Good food and lovely friendly service, we will definitely be back," one Facebook reviewer said.

They serve traditional home cooked food, snacks and refreshments in farmhouse style surroundings.

9 Caffe Ginevra, Prudhoe

The Italian coffee bar specialises in espresso-based coffees, local ice cream, Italian food and wines.

One Facebook review said: "Lovely little place with creamy lattes and the flatbreads are delicious."

10 Madness, Alicante

One reader said their favourite coffee shop was in a different country.

"Our favourite coffee shop is a long way from home, but we make a point to visit Madness in Alicante whenever we are in Spain. They make the most amazing Chai Lattes," they said.
