Hexham Courant readers have revealed who they think the best florist is in Tynedale.

In first place, with 10 votes was Just Flowers in Haltwhistle which was also voted the Best Florist in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham at the England Business Awards in July.

In second place was Watsonia Florists in Corbridge, nominated by Cody Doherty, Helen Jane Hardy and Penny Wilkinson.

The business specialises in flowers for birthdays and new arrivals to anniversaries and thank you.

They also send fresh flowers arranged to individual requirements delivered directly to the door.

Closely following Watsonia Florists was Stonehouse Flowers in Haltwhistle. They specialise in using home grown, British and imported flowers. They also sell fresh flowers and can be for collection or delivery.

Our reader Clare Adie said: 'It is fabulous for home grown flowers and dried flower wreaths.'

Other businesses that were mentioned were Castle and BLOOM Florists Prudhoe, Northumbrian Flowers, Honey B Flowers and Flowers unlimited.

Northumberland Flowers is a small, artisan flower farm nestled on the banks of the River North Tyne, growing fresh, seasonal, sustainable and scented flowers. The company also offers workshops demonstrating how to make wreaths, grow a flower garden and vegetables.

It also represented Hexham in the Best Rural Diversification Project category in the Amazon backed Rural Business Awards final.
