TYNEDALE'S largest employer is recruiting.

It comes after Hexham MP Guy Opperman met with representatives from Egger to discuss recruitment opportunities for local people.

The wood-based panel production company is co-sponsoring the MP’s annual Tynedale Jobs Fair on Thursday, October 20 at the Wentworth Leisure Centre in Hexham.

Egger, which has represented the North-East at the National British Chambers of Commerce in London, employs nearly 600 people.

Clare Ball, human resources manager, EGGER UK, said: "We welcomed the meeting with Guy as it gave us the opportunity to highlight and discuss the challenges around recruitment within Hexham and the local area.

"In addition to co-sponsoring the Tynedale Jobs fair, we are hosting a career open day on Saturday, October 8 at our Hexham site on Anick Grange Road. It will give people the chance to find out about the variety of roles we offer, and to discover more about the international business on their doorstep."

Guy Opperman MP added: “With jobs and investment, Egger continue to contribute to our local economy.

"It was great to catch up with the team and see the incredible employment opportunities for local people.

"If you are looking for work, to return to work after a break from employment, or for a change in career, then please do come along to the Tynedale Jobs Fair from 10am to 2pm’’.
