A walking group is hoping to 'stir up' interest for their walking event.
Organisers of the Haltwhistle Walking Festival are offering the 'perfect opportunity' for anyone interesting in short distance walking with 'taster walks'.
The ‘taster walks’ will allow walkers to choose from four, six or eight miles walks which will be with the well-established and experienced Festival team – one from Allendale on the Saturday and the other from Haltwhistle on the Sunday.
"Each walk starts and finishes at the same point which is great for finding a nearby café or pub for a well-earned coffee or drink," Catriona Mulligan, chair of Haltwhistle Walking Festival said.
"There are turnoff points at four and six miles for those wanting the shorter distances.
"Walking is not only excellent exercise for everyone, but it also offers people important opportunities to socialise with friends old and new.
"It can boost wellbeing, self-confidence, and enjoyment – even when it’s raining."
"You can choose on the day which distance to go for, knowing that team members will guide you back safely and there is car cover too.
"With some suitable footwear, waterproofs and a packed lunch, just go for it!"
Places are limited and are free to book.
