A new barber shop has been given an 'official opening and welcome' in a historic town.
Alex Noble, of Noble Barbers, was given the royal treatment by Hexham Mayor Derek Kennedy, who offically opened the new shop with his Mayoral golden scissors.
The 24-year-old former electrician, from Wark, took over the former David B barbers at 13 St Mary's Chare, only a few months after graduating from college.

Reflecting on the success of his business so far, Alex said: “I’ve been open two weeks and trade has been great.
"I live in Hexham but worked in Gateshead.
"When I saw opportunity to take on the barber business and I jumped at the chance to work in Hexham.
"I am looking for an additional qualified person to join me.”
Mayor Kennedy said: “I am delighted to welcome a young person opening a new business in Hexham."
