A WILDLIFE rescue centre is holding a fundraiser event.

Pennine Wildlife Rescue owners JoJo and Anthony Johnson are hoping to raise money for their wildlife sanctuary to continue to help injured animals.

The event will be on August 13 at The Crown pub in Catton.

Participants are asked to come between 10am and 11am.

"We would like to welcome anyone with any bike, including trikes. The trikes will be at the front and others behind, without overtaking," said Anthony.

"The route will be from Catton through Allendale to Allenheads towards Cowshill then onto Nenthead past Killhope Mine museum to Alston, through Alston then take Brampton road stopping at the Nook farm shop.

"We will have a cafe break then back through Alston to Whitfield, then back to the Crown in Catton.

"The route is all B roads which are bendy and uneven - so it will be a leisurely ride out, no racing.

"We hope to see as many as possible participating in this event.

"If anyone would like to attend please add your name to the Facebook post and say if you are going in the comments."
