A PRUDHOE air cadet has taken part in an exchange programme in the Netherlands.

Cadet Warrant Officer Kyle McLaughlin of 1248 (Prudhoe) Squadron took part in the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE).

Joining Kyle were fellow cadets from Germany, Switzerland, the Royal Belgium Air Cadets, and the French Air Cadet Force.

Over the course of a fortnight, Cadet Warrant Officer McLaughlin visited places including the Breda International Airport, Nationaal Militair Museum and the Gilze-Rijen Royal Netherlands Air Force Base.

He said: “The opportunity to take part in the International Air Cadet Exchange, getting to meet similar and like-minded people from across Europe, as well as visiting so many amazing places, has been incredible.

"Overall, I have had such a great time and having the opportunity to represent my Squadron and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets overseas has been one I will not forget.”

Flight Lieutenant Philip Magee, Officer Commanding of 1248 (Prudhoe) Squadron, added: “Kyle is an extremely diligent and active member of the RAF Air Cadets. Always leading by example and grabbing every opportunity that comes their way, I was absolutely delighted to hear they had been selected for this wonderful opportunity and experience.”
