MORE roadworks and diversions have been announced in Hexham - but a town councillor claims 'the pain will be worth it'.
A diversion will be in place for seven weeks on Eastgate road B6306 starting from September 5 until October 24 for Method Building Consultancy Ltd to render replacement works.

The road will be closed as the works require a scaffolding.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Cllr Suzanne Fairless-Aitken said: "This is much needed.
"It is short-term pain for a long-term gain.
"This rendering will transform the dilapidated old Boots building and the rest of the Heritage fund will be spent along Priestpopple and Battle Hill.
"The Hexham East high street will return to its former glory."
