THURSDAY'S episode of Love Island saw former Ponteland High School pupil Adam Collard and Welsh paramedic Paige go on a date on a luxury boat.

Newcastle-based personal trainer and gym owner Adam became exclusive with 23-year-old Paige after her former partner Cumbrian rugby pro Jacques O'Neill walked.

Adam, 26, surprised fans in a never-before twist by returning to the villa for a second shot at love; he first appeared as a contestant on the fourth series in 2018, becoming one of the programme's most infamous bombshells.

Hexham Courant:

During their time alone, the couple discussed their feelings for each other and looked ahead to their lives on the 'outside'.

Adam told Paige: “I tried to play it cool, it didn’t work out at all. It lasted 24 hours, if that.” With Paige adding: “We’re both done playing it cool?”

Adam also said he was excited for the Swansea native to meet his family, saying: “I actually know they’ll love you so much. Family is a big part of me. I know what they’d feel about you anyway.” “I feel the same about my parents. They’ll be rooting for you for sure,” she said.

And it may not be long before viewers get to see their respective families giving the relationship their seal of approval, with the 'family' episode of the ITV2 programme expected on Sunday.

The Love Island final is Monday, August 1 where this year's winners will be crowed and take home the £50,000 prize.
