VANDALISM at a village playground has been branded 'disappointing' by the parish council.
Several pieces of play equipment have been covered in graffiti, a fence has been kicked over and litter bins pulled from mountings and emptied at the popular Branch End Play Area, in Stocksfield.

Members of Stocksfield Parish Council have taken action over the vandalism.
Councillors are not certain when the vandalism took place but think it had been done recently.
Stocksfield Parish chair councillor John Harrison said: "I am extremely disappointed that such a well-used facility and valuable asset can be vandalised in such a mindless way.
"The damage has been reported to the police and will take a few days to repair."
