A son has completed a golf challenge fundraiser event for charity in memory of his dad.

Steve Butler, 32, Bellingham has achieved his goal of playing 72 holes (four rounds of golf) in one day, to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

"I chose the charity as it is close to my heart, as I lost my dad earlier this year after a seven-year battle," Steve said.

"I looked at something to do to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

"As I was looking for something to fundraise for the charity, I came across a challenge that involved playing golf and as I enjoy playing golf, thought why not?

"I was joined in different rounds throughout the day by two good friends and my boss."

"So far we have raised around £750-£800 currently but I still have a lot to collect from different sponsors and people who donated to the fundraiser.

"I didn’t think I would raise anywhere near the amount I have.

"I’m very great full to every single person who has donated.

"I couldn’t have wished for better weather but it was very hot which made it more challenging."
