An ice cream business took on a 'mammoth task' to drive around North East hospitals to complete to thank NHS staff for their hard work.
Owner of Tyne Valley Ices Zoe Phillipson of Hexhamshire, was 'thrilled' to be asked once again to do an 'ice cream tour' around some of the hospitals in the Northumberland and Northumbria area.
Zoe, who has been crowned as 'Mobiler of the Year 2022' by the Ice Cream Alliance, said: "We were asked to take on the task of an ice cream tour of all The Northumbria NHS trust sites but insisted on treating the staff at Hexham free of charge after all their hard work especially when adjusting to the new normal this past year.
"The atmosphere was fantastic and with such a good week weather-wise an ice cream free of charge was just what the staff needed.

"The tour involved visiting each site and handing out each member of the team a sweet treat before moving on to the next location.
"It was a mammoth task which isn’t for the faint-hearted but great fun with lots of smiles along the way."
Despite normally only visiting hospitals once, Zoe made the executive decision to make sure her hometown hospital staff were not missed out on the sweet treat and visited again.
Zoe adds: "I visited Hexham general hospital twice this week to give out free ice creams to all staff as a thank you for all their hard work."
