A football team has gained a new sponsor of a local businessman.
The Manor House in Haltwhistle, owned byTown Cllr Terry Christie, is the new sponsor of Haltwhistle Jubilee Junior Football under 7 junior team.
The news came about when the club released a picture of their new team strip with 'The Manor House' name on it.
Speaking about the announcement, Cllr Christie said: “ I have agreed to continue the sponsorship ongoing year after year.
"I think it’s fantastic to see young footballers gain skills at such an early age and the skill and discipline that will be learnt on the football pitch will help these young children in life so yes I think it’s great.
"There are some fantastic football teams and footballers here in Haltwhistle and don’t be surprised if you see a young footballer from Haltwhistle playing for Newcastle United one day”
