Hexham Courant: (L-R) Chef Chrissy Tuck, Head Chef Michael Hudson, and Front of House Manager Danielle Hudson(L-R) Chef Chrissy Tuck, Head Chef Michael Hudson, and Front of House Manager Danielle Hudson

Danielle Hudson is the businesses' Front of House Manager. She said all the staff were 'over the moon' to win the title of Best Cafe again.

Run by her husband, Head Chef Michael Hudson, the cafe serves a variety of menus, including pizza specials, steak specials and Sunday lunch.

The Business Awards is a cross boundary competition, and it is independent of all bodies and organisations.

The cafe was nominated by the public, and customers have to vote for the businesses through the Business Awards website.

Danielle said secret diners from the Awards then visited the cafe to score the business.

"We won last year, it's an honour to win two years in a row, and we're really proud of all the staff. We couldn't do it without the team and our customers," she said.

The event took place on Sunday night at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle, which is when the winners were announced.

Danielle attended with her husband Michael, Chrissy Tuck, who is a chef at the cafe, and several others from the team.

"It's been a tough couple of years for businesses, but it's going well, and we're still chugging along trying our best," she said.

Saks Hexham also won Best Hairstylists in Tyne and Wear.

Just Flowers in Haltwhistle won Best Florist across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

The business creates flower arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries and weddings, and also sells gifts.

Members of the public can vote all year round in various categories for their favourite business to be entered into the competition.
