HERE are the shops our readers said they'd like to open on their high street.
1 Clothes shop
The most desired shop to open was a 'decent' clothes shop.
A store which sells 'plus size clothing, that would be great', one reader said.
"A decent clothes shop," another requested, with someone else saying they wanted one which was 'reasonably priced'.
Several others said they would like to see a shop selling clothing for the younger generations.
2 Woolworths
Several readers commented saying they'd like Woolworths to open on the high street.
Woolworths went into administration in 2008 and closed all UK stores by 2009.
Selling a range of goods including toys, kitchen equipment, gardening supplies, and pick-and-mix sweets, the store was one of the country's oldest chains.
3 Shoe shop
Readers also commented to say their high street needed a 'decent' shoe shop.
There is a Clarks shoe shop, Mountain Warehouse and a Next store in Hexham which sell shoes, along with independent stores that stock shoes along with other items, such as the shop Persuasion.
Elsewhere in Tynedale, there is Harvey's in Haltwhistle, and Jessie Juniper and Finale Shoes and Accessories, both in Corbridge.
4 Sports shop
Several readers stated they'd like a sports shop to open on their high street.
One reader said they'd like the sports clothing brand JD Sports to open a store, which has several locations in Newcastle.
5 Primark
The budget-friendly clothing and accessories chainstore was voted for by several readers.
Nearby, there are Primark stores in Carlisle, Newcastle and Gateshead.
6 Bakery
"A decent bakery, like Nichol and Laidlows used to be," one reader said they wanted to see on the high street.
"It's the variety that Nichols had with gorgeous cream cakes and biscuits, and a huge variety of breads and of course the fresh cooked ham everyday that I miss," they went on to say.
Another suggested a 'proper cake shop' would do well as a new high street store.
The Grateful Bread, located on Hexham Market Street, sells a range of breads and specialise in the naturally leavened sourdough variety.
7 Toy shop
"Toy and game shop, for both kids and adults," one reader said, while another said: "Game or CEX would be good."
Mr Wolf, an independent toy shop in Hexham, sells a wide range of children's toys and books.
8 Arcade
One reader said they'd like an 'arcade for children and adults' to open on their high street.
9 Harrods, Fenwicks
Several stated they'd like either a Harrods or a Fenwicks store to open on the high street.
Harrods have now opened Harrods Beauty in the Metrocentre in Gateshead, which sells a range of fragrances and skincare.
10 Poundshop
One reader was nostalgic for Hexham's Poundshop. "I would love to have Poundshop open again," they said.
