THE chief executive of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust has been named as one of the most influential people in health in the UK.
Sir James Mackey is sixth on the HSJ100 2022, an annual list of the figures who will exercise the most power and/or influence in the English NHS and health policy over the next 12 months compiled by the Health Service Journal.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid tops the list.
Chief executive of NHS England Amanda Pritchard is second, while NHS England's chief financial officer Julian Kelly is listed as the 3rd most influential person.
Sir David Sloman, NHS England's chief operating officer, is fourth, and Jeremy Hunt, chair of the House of Commons health select committee, is fifth.
NHS England's regional director for the North East and Yorkshire and interim regional director for the North West is 19th on the list.
